Clapham NCT and/or Battersea Yoga

Just discovered that my local NCT course costs £300 which is about twice as much as I thought it would cost. Now wondering whether I can meet enough mums by going to Battersea Yoga classes who also run an intensive one-day course with a midwife on all the important prep/labour stuff - oh, and by doing the FREE antenatal classes at Chelsea & Westminster. Would really appreciate anyone's thoughts on this!

It will be difficult to make friends on an intensive one-day course, so if that's your main motivation for doing the course, you'd be better off going to the NCT

The free NHS classes can be very crowded, have less time and tend not to have the same people every week, so again, making friends is a bit hit and miss - but of course, the big upside is that they're free!

I would have unreservedly recommended the NCT course (I used to teach in Clapham Wink) but most Clapham courses are now taken by teachers who've come in from other areas who don't know much about the local area, so if you're considering booking definitely ask if it's one of the local teachers (I thoroughly recommend Elodie who is lovely and knows her stuff, but one of the others won't cover caesareans Hmm so worth asking who you're getting)
