Prep schools - what are the Guildford schools?

Hi ladies, I hope you can help me with this. We are planning our move from the big smoke down to Guildford this summer. We have two children, DS 5 and DD 3. We are looking for a co-ed prep school for them, and have come up with Longacre, Ripley Court and Hoe Bridge. Are these Guildford schools? Will they make Guildford friends at these schools? I am told Longacre serves the area south of Guildford rather than Guildford itself. Where do parents who want a co-ed education go? I am not against state at all, but have rather presumed we won't get my DS into a school at this stage, and also want the freedom to buy the house I want, rather than being tied to a particular street to get into a school. Any advice on co-ed schooling in the area? Many thanks.

There is a lot of choice for single sex schools, but few co-ed- hoebridge is very woking area, but that is only 15 mins from guildford, belmont prep is meant to be lovely- it is in holmbury st mary, just out of guildford, gelnesk infants in eat horsley is meant to be fab and chidlren from there go on to good schools, heard mixed things about downsend and feltonfleet. Ripley court- ripley is very near guildford so likely to be some guildford families. Rydes Hill- will be very guildford families but only goes up to infants for boys. Barrow Hills, Witley, is also meant to be very lovely as is St Hilary's

Would you consider single sex at all?
Most families in guildford either go to the fab local states (almost all are good) holy trinity pewley down, st josephs, boxgrove, burpham, Queen eleanors etc...all great. Or they send their children to guildford high, lanesborough, cranmore, tormead... is the general trend..
Where abouts in guildford are you moving to? or would you consider living out in e.g. godalming, hosley etc where you would have more local friends if you went to the local schools.. but would only be 15 mins from guildford..
