Days out with a dog and child

Any ideas of places to go with a nearly 4 year old AND a dog? I know there's lots of empty Chilterns space to run about in, but sometimes you want something a bit different. We are in Thame. Places that only allow a dog in the car park don't count! Have just been to Cuteslowe Park, and love Cotswold Wildlife Park, wish it was a bit nearer. Hughenden Manor also allows reasonable dog access. Suggestions welcome.

It may be a bit far for you & maybe your little one is a bit young but Chiltern Open Air Museum in Chalfont st Giles allows dogs on lead except inside the buildings. You can tie dog up for a few mins & there is lots of outside space & places to pic-nic. Also Marlow has a nice playground by the river & nice walk along the thames from there. also lots of shopping for you.

Wendover Woods is nice. A park for little one to play in - the dog has to stay outside the park, but lots of lovely walks for you and dog and 4yr old. There is also a cafe for a nice cuppa and lunch/ cake.

It is little way away but virginia water lakes is beautiful. Dog and child friendly and good way to spend a few hours. Another thought would be Blenheim palace which has masses of grounds which again are dog and child friendly.
