Martial art for a 4yo in Hackney.

I'm hoping my angry 4yo DS could benefit from learning a martial art. Are there classes for one so young in Hackney? Or do I just have to pad everything in my home and hope for the best.

Actually quite want him to start so he can at least look really cute wearing one of those dojo things or whatever they're called.

Firstly, I should clarify that 4yo is very very young. Martial arts is as much about discipline as anything else, and I doubt that many schools would be prepared to have a child that young as they won't have the attention span required.

Also, you'd have to consider if an 'angry 4yo' is the best person to give more tools to be angry with, when they don't have the maturity to know in which situations it's appropriate to use those tools.

If you're just wanting him to look cute, it'd be much cheaper and more sensible to just buy him a dressing up outfit.

Gah, edited half way through, first sentence was supposed to be 'Firstly, I should point out that I do not know Hackney or any of the schools there.'

Oddly, he is really controlled. He hardly ever lashes out and when he does it's always under extreme provocation. He just seems a bit frustrated.

My assumption was that the teacher wouldn't teach any dangerous moves and it would be more about control, balance, that sort of thing.

Oh and I was just being tongue-in-cheek about the dressing up bit.
