Daytime meet up

Hello fair ladies of Manchester

People seem keen on a day-time meet, with kids. As to not confuddle everyone on the drinks meet-up thread, I've started this one.

I was at Glo today (www.glofamily.com/) which is in Cheadle and is very lovely. They have an indoor play area, sensory room for babies/ those with special needs, a garden, and they do a free half-hour creative sesh in mornings and afternoons. Good cafe too. With cake. I promise I have no vested interest here btw!
The nice lady manager is happy to accommodate us for nuppence but with certain conditions:
(a) can we pick a quiet time - Tuesdays best (also fridays but I can't do those! Sorry)
(b) anyone who has never been before can attend for free once, but if one of us has a year's membership then they can have 8 guests for free anyway (anyone? I've only got a three-month membership at the mo).
(c) if there are more than 8 of us plus kids then she'd have to rethink - we'd probably have to rent a room.

So, are Tuesdays any good? (I can also do Mondays, or the weekend of course).
And how many of you would be up ferrit?
Any other potential venues which would entertain the kids while we eat cake? There's always head over heels in chorlton...

ooh I'm going to get on this thread just in case you pick a date after I have moved up...

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 12/04/2011 19:35

I'd be up for it - the evening ones always seem to fall when my DH is on a late shift. I'm on mat leave at the moment so most days are good for me.

NinthWave · 12/04/2011 19:41

Tuesdays good for me - DH's day off, and so I can leave DS1 with him (he's at preschool on Tues afternoons) and just bring my lovely 6mo DS2 Grin

Ohforfoxsake · 12/04/2011 19:47

what's the upper age range? probably not an issue as mine are back in school next week.
Are you thinking morning or afternoon?

topsmart · 12/04/2011 19:55

Lovelyjubbly, nice to get quick replies!
Fox, hadn't thought about time as I'm free allay. Sort of assumed mid-morning onwards as I like to base my outings around food and that would mean we could have lunch, but am up for whatever suits the majority.
Iskra, have you got a move date yet?

I'll abstain for now - shortstraw has pm nursery so will see how the plans pan out Smile

turdass · 13/04/2011 13:45

I'd like to come as long as I can bring Ds1 who is 5 too. I live within walking distance of Glo but have never been.

littlesez · 14/04/2011 13:28

i'll come, anyday except thurs and sat

iskra · 14/04/2011 13:32

topsmart - actually you are clearly all going to meet up way before I move up - was in a fit of excitement having exchanged contracts on our house! We are moving end June/early July. DP starts shadowing 18th July so fingers crossed we have finished the work on the house & can move straight in... or in with me mum in Didsbury...

How is your settling in? Are you still in the hotel?

Thought I'd say hello because I'm keen, but Friday's are about my only day off work at the moment.
Roll on October.

iskra · 14/04/2011 21:17

TSC - yay! You know I'm going to be on your doorstep within seconds... should be coming up soon to, you know, measure for curtains or something. I'll let you know!

thentherewerethree · 15/04/2011 09:53

May I come too please? Tuesday is good for me (accompanied by 3yo).

LovelyDaffs · 15/04/2011 18:46

Correct TSC

suwoo · 18/04/2011 08:00

Too far for me to trek drive to.

fenner · 21/04/2011 11:23

I could do any day during May half term (30th to 3rd)...but the venue might be too busy then (?)

topsmart · 03/05/2011 21:58

As far as I can tell, so far we've got:
CharlotteBronteSaurus
Ninthwave
Turdass
Littlesez
Thentherewerethree
And topsmart

But we may have more of you if we change to a school hol. Have been a blind fool who thinks everyone has the same age children as mine, i.e. pre-school... Shall we wait until half term week that Fenner suggests? Then more of you can come. And is there a less restrictive venue?

[Having said that, if those with school-aged kids think they probably won't make it anyway, we can revert to a tuesday at Glo. Now i've made this hopelessly complicated I shall sign off!]

fenner · 05/05/2011 11:46

Thanks Topsmart for thinking of those of us with DCs in nursery/school, but please go ahead and book something for whenever suits the list above. If you wait until half term most venues will be mucho crowded.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 05/05/2011 17:43

I'm easy either way
