We might win £15K for our playpark!

The shocker of a playpark in Corstorphine is on the shortlist to win a prize of £15k from a soft drinks manufacturer for a facelift. (Oh OK its fruitshoots but don't flame me...cash is cash.)

After a lot of hard work by a local mum and her helpers, the park is now one of 20 in the UK to win one of the 5 prizes.

Its the only one in Edinburgh up for the prize so if you have visited St Margaret's Park playpark and agree it's more or less a 70's timewarp and a Health and Safety disaster zone, could you leave a message of support? Many many thanks.

lovely to hear from you here

Voted and will get DH to do so as well. We live in Clerwood and it would be great to have a new swanky park!

lovely thank you!
Apparently the council had put aside £70K to upgrade this park before the current financial situation.

However they are very interested to see if St Margarets Park wins as this may justify some council funding.

Anyone else?

The results are due on Tuesday. It's our local park and I'll always remember the day I walked with dd and ds to there to find the teens had ripped up all the soft surface tiles and ruined the place :-( So unfair to the little ones who just wantd to play.

St Margaret's Park won! Yippee!
£15K to be spent by July!
Local parents and carers are in consultation with the council about what to choose (also whether the play area will eventually be moved in a separate phase).
Thanks to all who voted!
