Is Valentines Park still nice?

We moved from Wanstead when I was 4 but I still have fond memories of Valentines Park in Gants Hill. I often think about taking my two little boys there but as it's diagonally across London from where we live now I just wanted to check it's still a nice place to go ( a lot can change in 30 years!). Is the refreshment pavilion still there ?

First time user - replying to question on Valentines Park. Yes it is lovely. There is a recently renovated Mansion House which has restored gardens and a lovely little modern Garden Cafe. The Pavilion cafe is still open at weekends but is a little run down. There is q bird watching area, lots of squirrels, ducks/geese/swans on lake etc. I love going to the Mansion House restored Gardens and feeding the ducks followed by a delicious latte and cake at the cafe.

Thank you! DH has to work on Mother's Day Sad so I might make the trip then.

Valentines Park is excellent in this weather. I went there with my son who is two years. He enjoyed playing in the kids area and the lil canteen is also good. Although the service is quite slow.

The boating has started and the lake has swans and ducks. Its very beautiful for a picnic day out. People around Ilford must take advantage of this park.

There is also buggy workout for new mums taking place there for mums who wants to get back into shape !!
