Hi, I'm in MK too. My children are a bit older at 4 and 15 months but there are loads of things we do that would be suitable for a 6 month old if you'd like some ideas?

With a 6 month old your best bet is probably a Mother and Baby/Toddler group. A good one will have toys for baby and a chance for you to meet some other Mums and have a chat and a cup of tea. There's bound to be one near you - whereabouts in MK are you? We go to a lovely one in Walnut Tree on a Wednesday with my friend and her 8 month old....

The CMK Library does Song and Rhyme time on a Tuesday between 10 and 10.30 too. It's a nice way to learn some new rhymes to sing with your little one and even the teeny ones seem to enjoy it. It's free too. Bletchley library does a similar thing on a different day. Not sure which day it is though.

You can start swimming lessons at Middleton pool in Newport Pagnell from 6 months. At that age it's more about becoming familiar and confident in the water but DD loves it. I took DS from 6 months and he can now swim at 4. The baby lessons are on a Monday or a Friday morning. There's also a Parent and Baby swimming session on a Monday morning if you didn't want to be tied to 'lessons'

There's Pushchairs in the Park. Not much for baby to do but sit in the pushchair and snooze or look around as you walk round the park but it's a nice way of getting some fresh air and meet other Mums and as the children get older they can get more and more involved with the activities on offer. This is also free and happens once a month. You've missed this months as it was yesterday but there'll be another at the end of April. I always try to post details on the local board in advance.

And if you've got any pregnancy weight left to lose there's Push n Tone too - it used to be called "BuggyFit". It's a keep fit class done outside with your buggy. There are 4 or 5 different ones dotted around MK on different days. The one I go to only costs £1

Fancy any of those?

Ah yes, will be harder if you're working. Library do a Family Rhyme Time on a Saturday for working parents but I don't think it's every week
