baby and toddler groups in derby

hello everyone! i've just joined mumsnet today! i've got a 2.5 year old and a 2 week old baby. does anyone know of any good mother and baby/toddler groups in derby?

Which area of Derby are you looking at?

I'm from Littleover. I recommend Heatherton Babies - 10am on Fridays at Haven Church, Heatherton. I know they have a different day for older pre-school kids (not sure what age that is but I can find out).

Darley abbey toddler group runs every Wednesday 9.15 to 11.15 at darley abbey village hall, it is very friendly and welcoming. It is £1.20 for one child £1.50 for two.

There are two weekly Stay and Play sessions at Becket Children's Centre on Stockbrook Street where I work.

The Monday session is called Little Angels and is for all ages. It runs from 1.15 - 2.45pm and can get quite busy!

The Friday session is called Bumps and Bundles and is for at parents with little ones under 18 months. Most of the activities are for babies with soft play and mark-making / painting activties. It runs from 9.30-11am with the Breastfeeding Group straight afterwards.

Both are free and you don't need to book.

St.Peter's church in Derby city centre have a lovely friendly toddler group, Thurs 10-11.30. you can also to you errands in town straight after, some of the Mums go to a coffee shop afterwards. I'm from Littleover but I made so many friends at this group over the years that I kept going right up until my youngest started school.

Forgot to add there's a group on Monday mornings called Little Angels at Riverside Church on Riverside Way Pride Park. If you can get hold of the lotsfortots booklets they have loads listed there.

I'm In Mickleover, little micklers is great, it's on a Monday 1.30-3 it's only £1 entry, at the Methodist church on Mickleover

I go to the NCT Walkers and Talkers at the West End Community Centre on Fridays, 10am to 12pm. I pay a donation of 2 pounds and take my 2 year old and 9 month old. I also go to the Findern kids club at 1:30pm on Tuesdays, term time only.

Where about are you based Simoneella? This post was started some years so much may be out of date, but the comment about the "lots for tots" magazine or website provides loads of activities across Derby and Derbyshire. I've got a nearly 3 month old, so just starting to explore the groups (I'm Littleover way)
