Single parents in Liverpool

Recently become single parent with 8 month old baby, would like to talk to other single parents in area! Still getting to grips with using mumsnet!

Hi hun, I'm a single parent of 3 aged 10, 6 and 4. Been a single parent for 5 yrs now and a few bits previous (rough relationship)

How are you finding it being on your own?

Not really been on own for long- just about a week since final split but been arguing loads with husband since the baby was born and have spent periods on my own. We have agreed not to try again as it's beyond repair. It just seems so sad as our baby is only 8 months. Just wanted to know how people cope- it seems scary to be on your own and solely responsible for a child. I'm just staying with family at the moment until get myself sorted out so is not too bad but think it will be hard when get back to my own house. Do you find it lonely in the evenings? I guess it must be hard with 3 children though?

Sorry I mean't to ask you what do you think reasonable access to the baby would be for her Dad? I don't have a clue. He doesn't have his own place yet so I was going to say every sun for the whole day- he can take her to his mums and maybe twice after work - he would have to come to my house for an hour or so- it's really difficult as I want to distance myself from him. thanks

Hi, I'm not a lone parent but am in Liverpool. It must be really scary for you but if you were fighting a lot then it's probably best for your baby to be out of that sort of environment.

What you've proposed for contact seems reasonable to me, for what it's worth. I hope it all goes well for you xx
