Cafe in Botanics

Does anybody know anything about a new cafe in the Botanics? I saw a sign on the Visitor Centre saying it was closed for redevelopment as a Tea Room. Be good if it was!

the sign has been up for ages will be a godsend and healthy competition for the ice cream van.

Oh I didn't realise it had been up for ages. Doesn't look like much is going on.

oh that would be GREAT! (where is the visitor centre btw?)
having said that, the coffee from waitrose is vg, we get that and then wander across.

yy we were in the Botanics today (the visitors centre is just by the steps leading up from the Kelvin - behind the Kibble Palace) and saw the notice was still there. First saw it at least 3 months ago so nothing's happening fast.

Talking of building in parks, I was speaking to the guy who owns An Clachan in Kelvingrove Park during the week and he said that the building they're doing in the old play park beside the skate park is for a new play park which is good news. I was worrying that cooncil money troubles was just going to mean the site was left to rot. Shame about all the trees that are coming down though Sad (not related to the playpark).

they are so WEIRD in an clachan. the man is so much more of a people person than the woman, don't you think? she's got children of her own but absolutely HATES kids in the cafe.

Lol oh yes. I borrowed the chalks for ds and she was ok about it but very grudging. Ds was playing with their daughter which is how I got talking to the man. He was really nice.

she is super-duper NOT a people person, i have no idea why she is front of house. she totally stresses me out tbh.

and they take soooo long to bring the orders. I have had to adjust my timing for letting dd away to the swing park as sure as fate she is back moaning asking for me to play with her just as the coffee and cake arrive.

How can it take so long? is the grumpy one trying to put me of?

But the cakes are delicious.
