Hello, can anyone advise me as to what the infant schools are like in Beeston/Chilwell/Toton? I've looked on the council website but would like to get people's personal opinion. This is my first child and I don't know anyone locally with children this age. Can anyone help?

Hi
My little girl goes to John Clifford in Beeston, as did I back in the day. I think most of the schools are very good in Beeston and Chilwell - I don't know much about Toton though. Do you have any particular ones in mind? I think the best ones are Roundhill and Meadow Lane, but I don't think there's any you need to avoid.

Thank you, I was thinking of Alderman Pounder as its close and seems ok on the council site but I don't know anyone whose children go there.

Hi, my oldest dd is starting at Chetwynd Rd School in Toton in September, subject to getting a place of course. It seems like a lovely school, was really impressed when we went to an open day. Liked the head teacher a lot, and the whole ethos of the school seems in line with my own preferences if you know what I mean. Have heard good things about Alderman Pounder too, my friends boys went there until she moved away, and had all good things to report!

I cannot speak highly enough of Bramcote Church of England school. My son is there and it is a truely lovely place. I have friends whose children are very happy at Roundhill and Meadow Lane also.
