Advice Please: Are there enough boys at Longacre School, Guildford

Hi - I am considering sending by 6yo son to Longacre school, Guildford. Seems really lovely, v. impressive new head but there seems to be a really low ratio of boys/girls. The school says they try to achieve a 50:50 balance but I wondered if any of you out there have any direct experience of this school, and whether the apparent lack of boys impacts on sports etc.

It is 50/50 across the school but each year group may seem skewed one way or the other which is down to who happens to apply in any one year. Some years there is an exodus of boys to prep school at 7+ which reflects the fact that LOngacre only goes to Year 6 - if you want to go to Senior school that starts at 13 your choice is to go at 7 or have to do only 2 years at prep school before senior school and potentially be at a disadvantage having not followed the 13+ CE syllabus at LOngacre. Sports is getting stronger for all and they are actively increasing facilities for this.
