Hi, we are relocating fingers crossed all goes through as planned.

I have two teens, that need to be state educated due to finances.

Anyone want to take me under their wing or tell me about the area?

We don't know anyone locally.

Almondsbury is near the motorway junction and Cribbs causeway shops but is outside the Bristol LEA boundary so cannot comment on schools. It's a small place and has a primary school but no ideas about secondary. Would imagine if you move there you would have to do quite a bit of travelling. The bus service is infrequent and expensive so you would be a taxi service to your teens most of the time.

I would think you'd come under the Thornbury schools. Castle and Marlwood are both well regarded. Not sure how easy it would be to get spaces though.

You would be in area of prime responsibility for marlwood - a good school and could probably get into Castle at a push. Both are well regarded. You would need to drive I think but Cribbs is v close and N Bristol is also easily accessible. Also handy for parkway station if you wanted to use train. My husband gets into Bristol in rush hour in about 30 -35 mins to the waterfront.
We live here but my kids are lots younger (4 and 1) and we like it a lot. We came from london 3 years ago and looked at houses all over Bristol and surrounding areas and are v happy with where we ended up.
