I'm moving to Norfolk in the next few months and I'm looking for advice as to where to move to, we are looking at taverham or Costessey.has anyone any experience of what these areas are Like to live in ? Good schools nearby ? Am also open to ideas as long as it's close to Norwich and there are some shops and toddler groups nearby . Any advice greatly appreciated .

I live in Norwich and love it. It's a lovely city, very laid back and friendly and lots of nice parks and stuff for the kids. If you wanted to live in the city then the so called 'Golden Triangle' area is very popular with young families (victorian terraced houses off Unthank and Earlham road). Don't know Taverham very well but wouldn't be too keen on Costessey personally (although never lived there). Further out, Hethersett is very popular with families, has very good schools, shops, toddler groups etc. Hope that helps.

We lived in Hoveton for a while and were very happy with the nursery and the school and the baby group and the transport into Norwich and the easy access to the seaside and the good car boot sales....

We are now in South Norfolk and we are happy with the schools, the transport into Norwich is OK, there is a pond for the ducks.

Really, it depends what you want. Round Dereham/Gressenhall is lovely. The Coast is lovely too between Cley and the Wash, and it's good all the way round, depending on what you like and expect.

The A47 to Yarmouth is very very flat, which is tremendous if you like looking at sky.

Norwich has some lovely museums and there is a marvellous Kid's club at the cinema.
