Can you get in to York?

There is a group at the Baptist church on Priory Street at the top of Mickelgate which runs 10-11.30 Weds and Fri. It's called Jellytots, is very cheap (50p per family) and usually very friendly. All ages welcome so lots of toddlers but also lots of babies and it's nice because you don't have to leave when your child hits a year or whatever.

NCT runs Bumps and babes on a Tuesday info here

Also the NCT do coffee mornings - you don't need to be a member for that either afaik here I suspect the north west villages may be closest for you?

Look out for the Big scream at City screen in York too - cinema for mum (and dad) and baby Grin

If baby signing is something you'd like to do here

Northernlurker · 03/02/2011 18:34

No car then? That is a pain.

mamov4 · 03/02/2011 18:37

my local church?? no they stopped it..or actually there seems to be confusing info over it x

Tsk they should update their website then! Grin

Tell you what - if they have stopped it then you could contact them and offer to help start it up again? That is a great way to meet people if you're offering something new.

mamov4 · 03/02/2011 18:43

that sounds scary.. i tend to keep myself in the background rather than up front in ppls faces..

well the thing about baby groups is that you're in the same boat. You've all got a baby and you all want to talk about that, be reassured you're not cocking it up and eat nice bsicuits Grin If you're in charge then they will be scared of you - and think how marvellous you are that you're out in the sticks and have got it together to help them Grin You need good posters, good biscuits and a bit of support with finances from a church or similar.
