Soft play in Bristol

I live in Henleaze and am looking for somewhere nice to take my 11 month old where DH and I can have tea and cakes and where LO can crawl around and have fun too. I know on weekends places like Jump are absolutely rammed and we were looking for somewhere a bit calmer than that! Any ideas?

If your up for a drive ugly bugs in longwell green is good as it is only suitable for under fives so you won't have lots of big ones

here

Or the museum has a under sevens area lo could crawl around

playspace is good it had very good coffee newspapers, wi-fi and a sectioned off area for under 5 it is also a well lit not dark like jump. All the food is freshly cooked from local suppliers. They also have a double sized babyden for the very young. They do painting and craft which is good as they get older. Have been at the weekend and found it quiet first thing.

I don't work for playspace I just think it is the best soft-play in the area

Babalu Cafe on Gloucester Rd has Soft Play out the back.

Portaco just off Gloucester Rd is a nice soft play for younger ones.

There is also a soft play cafe further up Gloucester rd that friends tell me is very good, somewhere near the Royal Oak.

(as you can see we don't travel far from home Grin)

Did you mean Rimando's Ninjacat? rimandos It is small and whenever I have been it has been quite quiet. My dds are 6 and 3 and I would say it is too small for the 6 year old so would be fine for your baby.
I second the recommendation for PLayspace though if you are looking for something a bit bigger.

I would just add that Rimando's don't enforce the under-five's-only which means your baby or toddler may well get squashed - it's a shame as the owners are lovely but I've asked them about 4 times to be more rigorous as the space is rather cosy!

I went to Babalu for the first time on Sunday and was really impressed; the children's area could have done with a tidy-up and is not massive (although bigger than Rimandos), but it is free!!!!

I´ve been to the three of them. I find Calico play and Rimando very expensive. Babalu is very nice both for people with children and people without children. The prices for coffee and food are the same as a normal coffee and the play area is free!
Besides, the whole area is quite family friendly.
Calico play advertises "cheaper" prices for food and coffee, but they have the same prices, so it turns out quite expensive. The inside looks like a warehouse with white walls and some toys thrown here and there.
Rimando is just a small cafe with a very expensive play area at the back.
They are all good I suppose, but if you want affordable quality, in my opinion Babalu comes out top. If you have young babies you need to watch them like in any of the others, but with toddlers it looks quite safe to let them play by themselves. There is only one way out, so they can´t get lost or snatched. However last time I went it felt a bit chilly.

I had my daughters 3rd birthday party at Babalu, the venue was just perfect on all counts. Their was a soft play area which was ideal for all the toddlers, and for the older ones the staff kindly let them have run of the exercise studio which they use for exercise classes. The kids loved all the fresh juices on offer, and you can imagine how all the freshly made pancakes went down as a food option!! The adults then had the front of house cafe to drink a vast varianty of teas and very good speciality coffees. The owner Mike spent a lot of time expalining the concept of his cafe and his very obviously passionate about his venture. Finally, somewhere in Bristol that is perfect for the kids and US!!!
