Relocating to Clevedon area

Hubby has oportunity to relocate to Clevedon from Manchester this summer. Can anyone tell me what Clevedon is like as a place to live especially with 3 young children: local amenities, mums groups/playgroups, best bits to live etc and any info on best primary school(s) in the area (eldest is in year 1). OR which are the best areas within 5 miles or so of Clevedon taking schools etc into consideration. Thanks

Clevedon is safe and quiet with the advantage of being by the sea.

Downsides - its VERY insular.

  • used to be a good toddler group run by Baptist Church, probably still is?

There's a wierd snobbery about living in upper Clevedon - I guess the houses are older, and tend to be bigger, but if you're moving from a city, it is a bit odd! St Johns used to be one of the schools of choice, not sure if this is still the case?

Hopefully someone will come along with more up-to-date knowledge for you.

Other than Clevedon, Yatton seems to be an ok place to live, and Nailsea is definitely less insular, although I'm told it has its moments! If you are used to city life, and reasonably affluent, then maybe consider Clifton?
