Hi - Haven't heard about them. But my husband is a painter and decorator who works with his brother in law and are very experienced so if you are looking for any aspect of decorating work then please give me a shout and I will ask one of them to call you!

Good luck with the refurb!

Hi just joined Mumsnet.

So may be a bit late to advise, but here go,s

Most PM work on a % base from around 10-20% some then charge a fee on top.

I recommend you shop around and take the time to build a scope ie the work you want done. It will help the PM and define the works.

Its also a good idea to build a project brief.

  1. budget.
  2. who will manage
  3. scope.
4 program.
  1. what you want and don't want from the works. (example I like high ceilings and lots of light).
  2. risk ask the PM to draw up a risk reg, and if the pm looks blank get some one else.

last of all good luck and most of all remember its your money and your the boss end of.
