Hi,
We have just moved to Hitchin with our DS who will be 4 in April - due to start school in Sept - Highbury most likely as we live v close.
If there's anyone in a similar boat who fancies meeting up that would be great. Also any advice about local playgroups etc which might be good for his age would be most appreciated.

Thanks! :)

Hi

Welcome to Hitchin :) I am new to Mumsnet and am looking to meet new people too. I have a DS who is 2.5 and another baby on the way. We also live close to Highbury School! I would love to meet up some time - maybe for coffee, soft play or at a park. We can do any morning except Wednesdays and most Mondays (anytime). Have you been to Space 2 Play?

My DS loves it there, there is lots to do and if you go during school time it isn't too busy with older children.

Let me know if you fancy meeting up and of course this applies to anyone else who might read it and is in a similar position.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Anna

Hi Anna,
Thanks for your message. It would be really good to meet up and Space to Play sounds like an excellent idea - we've only been once and my son will be really excited to go again.
Best days for us are Monday (other than 1.30-2.30) or Fridays. We're about this Monday or the 21st and with one thing and another the first Friday we're around is the 25th. Let me know if any of those work.
Look forward to meeting up,
Marina

Great!
Shall we meet at Space 2 Play on Monday (7th) at 10 am? I'll be the one with the baby bump and the gorgeous 2 year old with big brown eyes and Thomas the Tank Engine T-Shirt :)

Looking forward to meeting you both too.
Anna x

Hi girls,
I'm having a big read all the messages session on mums net this eve as Ive just joined! I must look like a nutter but bear with me! Im moving to Hitchin in hopefully the next 6-8 weeks. We're currently looking for a nice rental in the area.Hubby is communting from home (Ireland) to london at the minute. Not nice being solo for 2 week streches but sure it will all come together in the end.Im a SAHM with 2.5yr old boy.Im excited about the move but freaking out too as I literally wont know a sinner and my sense of direction leaves a lot to be desired! So new town knowing nobody is a bit Shock.Good to see other mums meeting and greeting. Hope i'll meet some of you in the future.

Hi, We are looking to relocate to Hitchin in July. By then I will have a 20 month old son and a 6 week old baby! We are seeking to buy in the area but are having a problem finding a house due to a shortage on the market! If you know of anyone wanting to sell or are looking to sell yourselves please give me a shout! (budget up to £320k).
Alternatively we will look to rent until we find somewhere!

Now for the desperate sounding bit.... I would love to meet up with mum's in the area, make new friends for me and my son and seek advice on playgroups and activity recommendations.

He is currently at nursery but as I am starting my second maternity leave we will have to probably survive without a nursery! ARGGHH!

We have also been recommended to look in the SG4 9 postcode area for schools. Is this the best area?

I understand that virtually all schools are good or outstanding in their ofsted reports.
Any neighbourhood recommendations also really welcomed!?
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you, Alice
