Which hospital?

Hi,
I've just found out I'm pg with #1 and went to GP this morning. About the only thing she did was ask which hospital I want to be under. I have no idea. Apparently my options are QE2 in WGC, although their maternity is merging with the Lister in "autumn", and I'm due in August, so a bit close, or Harlow.
Does anyone have any experience of either? I have to make my mind up quickly, and I really wasn't expecting this so soon!

Thanks

I had DS 2 at QE2 in WGC and I had no complaints.
Unless you hear of a good reason to not go with either hospital, see which is easier for you to get to. You will have many appointments and need to consider how to get to hospital and back.
There is no need for them to rush you. You can also arrange to visit each maternity unit before you decide.
Best of luck x

Thanks Gaston, that's really helpful.
I don't understand why I have to decide so quickly but the GP was quite annoyed that I didn't have an answer for her then and there. She said she can't get me into the system without knowing which hospital I want to be under. But then I won't be seen by anyone until it's time for the 12 week scan anyway. I'd be happier if I had a midwife to be in touch with, even if only for peace of mind. This is my first and I'm getting concerned at every twinge or lack of!
