Where Best to Sell 2nd hand Kids Stuff locally??

We've been prompted into having an attic room clear out after selling on DDs cot & realising we had a room going to waste, that is stowed off with decent kids & baby stuff..... we had initially kept in case we were lucky enough to have another DC, realise now thats not going to happen......... & I want my work room back :) & raising a bit of Xmas/renovation cash seems a good idea

Can anyone here recommend where is best locally to sell it?? ...... surprised having put a bike in there, that Friday add seems a bit dead Confused...or have I just been unlucky??

Also has anyone used the sellers bit on here??, how did you find it?? ....I've had a look at it, & though I don't mind paying the annual subscription for me to sell stuff, but feel having to pay to look for stuff might put potential buyers off??, as it would me?? ...is that the case??

Thanks

Yes friday ad is a bit dead. Have sold some stuff on Gumtree, been a bit hit and miss. Quick replies for furniture, beds etc but it took longer for toys - put on train sets and playmobil this time last year - no response but strangely lots of calls after Xmas. It is free though.

Gumtree, netmums (local), there's also 2nd hand baby shops like Daizy in Portland Rd and Poppets in Blatchington Road (they're pretty fussy tho)... there's an online one that's just started too called something like Doodletots?

rockinhippy · 16/12/2010 10:20

Thanks Harimad :) I hadn't heard of netmums before & have now posted some stuff over there, ....though a bit frustrating as seems the site doesn't like my computer Hmm & won't let me reply to someone who has posted a wanted for one of the things I have to get rid of :(
I'll give the shops a miss though, the stuff is in good condition, but I don't drive & they are a bit of a pig for me to get to....I'm going to try & find the "doodledots" one though

Gum tree is also not liking my MAC/Browser, so seems I need to sort my computer out before I can do much, though have posted stuff in Friday Ad, but not holding my breath......though interesting Haggis that you sold things AFTER Xmas, I was thinking I would of given up by then if you'd not told me that...thanks :)
