We were selling through Romans but have found them spectacularly rubbish & are now looking for a new EA. We don't live locally and the flat we are selling was dh but he hasn't lived in the area for ages & it was let.

Have spoken to prospect who seemed ok but we thought Romans was as their letting side were great. So any suggestions welcome

We used Prospect and they were very good. Tried and failed with Davis Tate who were very nice but couldn't sell for us. Prospect were more agressive and I probably didn't like them quite as much but they got results - I'd use them again

Can also recommend a good solicitor when you sell!

Which area of Reading? We used Sansome & George for both buying and selling and they were great. They cover all of Reading but are best for Tilehurst and West Reading.

Interesting that girlafraid recommended Prospect. We hated them when we were buying! They either knew nothing about the properties they were selling or lied about them. Maybe you get a different experience as a vendor.

That may well be the case, we bought from S&G too and I liked them

Prospect sold our flat, found them to be as girlafraid said, aggressive (sellers that is), not especially likeable, but got it sold.

Calling any mums in the caversham/emmer green area of Reading, I am due my second baby in Jan and have just started my maternity leave, would love to meet new mums for coffee etc if anyone is interested?

bagpuss32 · 30/12/2010 21:07

whoops sorry... mumnesia is well and truely set in - posted this in the wrong thread! But on the subject of Prospect... they sold our last house and they were hideous, would never do business with them again. I would recommend Nichloas in Caversham but I think it's always best to go with an agent that is well established in your area.

Hi,
I have just sold and bought with Davis Tate, Twyford office. Very pleased with them.

Probably helped that there were 2 lots of commissions at stake!

We're buyers at the moment and have had a terrible experience with Prospect. My sister sold with them and hated them too, they lied to her. With us they just made it very difficult to negotiate with the seller, would not call us back etc - the deal nearly fell through because of it. Terrible.

Monkeytoo · 21/01/2011 19:45

Just to add for any future reference - our experience with Prospect just got worse - our seller just dropped out of the house he was purchasing (Tuesday!) and they haven't even told us - we found out from him yesterday.

Parkers. They were great for us.

We sold with Pink Residential and service was great

They do a different kind of way and cover all of England but service was excellent. My mum used them to let also in Islington London and saved a fortune.
