How much does it cost to hire a nanny/baby sitter for a few hours in Cambridge?

We will need to go to a party for a few hours and there is no one from our relatives to take care of the kids. I wonder what do parents usually pay per hour and is the price going to be different during the weekend. We might not afford it so I will have to stay at home.

Not sure what others pay but our baby sitter charges £7.50 per hour, she's got childcare qualifications though and her rate is the same for for weekdays and weekends.

Thanks, that helps. I see what she says. Buying a gift plus the baby sitter would cost us around £100.00. I would rather stay at home and save money for the baby sitting. Still will have to buy a present.
