Where can I get a decent second-hand cot locally?

There don't seem to be any Brighton-based second hand cot sellers on ebay and DS has all but demolished the present one but I'm too scared to put him into a bed (due to immiment arrival of DS2). Any suggestions as to charity shops it might be worth stalking or second hand sales in the area that might come up trumps?

have you tried Freecycle?

also, try Debra and YMCA on London Rd - they have big pieces of furniture

or try the For Sale/Wanted board on here?

Poppets, also in Blatchington Road does second hand as well as new baby equipment. You need to ask though as the cots/prams etc are upstairs so you wouldn't know they were there if you just went in to browse.

Emmaus in Portslade occasionally have them too

Have you tried the Friday Ad?

Greencycle is the main local freecycle board now, they broke away from the freecycle group over a year ago, & are generally much busier

if you don't find anything else, I have a good quality pine cot-bed I intend to put up for sale soon.

Did you find a cot? We're selling a great Stokke cot which also can be adapted into a bed. Comes with mattress, mattress protector, 2 sheets and bumper. Let me know if interested.

spotofcheerfulness · 10/12/2010 20:56

Hi Juemmie, we have found one thanks, but many thanks for the offer Grin

Hi there, I live in Hove and am looking for a second hand cot - I noticed several people on this thread are / or are thinking of selling a cot ... I'd be glad to hear from you if so, many thanks!

Shogirl · 05/01/2011 22:33

I have a cot which I'm happy to give away. It's 10 years old, pine, mothercare and lacks assembly instructions but I worked it out and assembly is not really my forte! The mattress was bought new for my youngest two years ago although you are always advised to buy a new mattress. PM me if you're interested, I'm in the Hanover area of Brighton.
