i beleive it's lovely but have never been. i loathe the road to new lanark unless the weather is perfect.

i can recommend pollok park, if that helps?

vintage4 · 22/11/2010 14:25

Have never been though live VERY near. There are lots of lovely garden centres in the Clyde valley with lots for children to do with train rides millions of huge decorATIONS ETC. Why is the road to New Lanrk difficult? don`t get it

vintage4 · 22/11/2010 14:25

sorry meant to say i will find out for you if it is good

AitchTwoOh · 22/11/2010 14:29

maybe you have a spiffier car than me? Wink i just hate twisty roads.

geordieminx · 22/11/2010 14:32

Have heard it's very good, but again haven't been.

The road through the crossford valley can be really badly affected by snow.

I have booked to take ds to see Santa claus for breakfast at hamleys.... Sucker am I?

Will let you know how I get on there.

Have also heard good things about pollock park.

vintage4 · 22/11/2010 14:34

Yes well you are right about the twisty roads.Ca`nt go anywhere here without them so must be accustomed to them and the car sickness sometimes they are so bad

AitchTwoOh · 22/11/2010 14:37

i am literally white-knuckled with fear. Grin [townie]

manicmamma · 22/11/2010 17:28

via edinburgh isn't so bad, don't worry. it's the clyde valley road i think i'm talking about (is it, vintage?)

vintage4 · 23/11/2010 10:37

all roads to Lanark/New Lanark are twisty no espcaping but honestly they are fine and gritters are always out on the main roads if icy etc

manicmamma · 02/12/2010 18:26

Decided on cancelling our trip to New Lanark not worth risking it in the bloody snow. Hopefuuly get there before Christmas
