cheap places to stay in Bath?

Hi there. My sister and I are planning a weekend in Bath for my mum's 80th. I have had a quick look online for cheap hotels - chains like Premierlodge - but I can't find anything apart from a HolidayInnExpress with rooms for well over £100 per night! We will probably be travelling by train and so we'll need to be central. If I can't find anything at all, we might consider driving and staying slightly further out as long as it's on a bus or train link to the centre.

It all seems to be so expensive and we are on a low budget.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Bath is not really cheap as it is a big tourist town.

There isTravelodge

Now, why didn't I spot that one before? Thanks!

Why don't you stay in Bradford on Avon and get the train into Bath? It takes about 10 -15 mins. Word of warning though the train can be PACKED if Bath Rugby are playing at home that day!!

There are some lovely central B&B's in BOA that won't break the bank (about £60 per night for a double). I work at the Tourist Information Centre, worth having a look at our Website -

Have a great weekend!

Thanks Sallster. I did consider staying there as it looks so beautiful. My mum is from the area so knows it well. I'll check out your website

If you're still looking...There's b and bs on Pulteney Gardens and nearby roads for less than £100 which is only an easy flat stroll to the center of Bath and it's also worth looking at the ones on Wells Way and Bear Flat.
