hi everyone im moving to westbury early november and just wondering whats around there, i have a DSD that i would like to have days out ect with but shes not there full time so would be good to find out some more grown up things in the area aswell.

I know nothing about the area and know no one there so even things like wheres the local supermarket would be helpful tips lol.

TIA

There's a cheap supermarket (not one of the main chains) or Co-op in Westbury, or Trowbridge has Asda & Tescos, Frome has Sainsbury's.

There is a reasonable leisure centre and the oldest continually working swimming pool in the country.

Nice Indian restaurant and some reasonable (ish) pubs.

Your nearest cinema is in Bath.

Trowbridge also has a Sainsbury's now!

thank you, indian restaurant will be v useful on the first night!

trowbridge seems like the place to go if you need anything though not much round westbury.

on netmums i was told there was a market n one of the local towns but the person never got back to me about weather it was in trowbridge, warminster or elsewhere does anyone here know??

There are a few - Trowbridge has a permanent under cover market (no food stalls though), and also has a regular Farmers Market and often a visiting French/Italian Market. Best idea is to keep an eye out in the Wiltshire Times (every Thursday) as all the Markets get mentioned in the local paper!
