Help with Harpenden- Westfield road area?

Hi,
I'm trying to find somewhere outside of London to move to, had mostly ruled out Harpenden as to expensive but have just found somewhere do-able (renting).
Have done a bit of a search on here and its close to Lea school and Westfield road which seem to be less than desirable.
My questions is, How undesirable is it? Is it rough or just less middle class

It's definitely not rough. The Lea has had a poor reputation in the past and unfortunately it has stuck. The fact is it has more of a mixed intake than some of the other Harpenden schools so it's results aren't as high - doesn't mean it's a bad school. It has small classes, dedicated staff, good head. The only way is for you to go and have a look and see if it's what you're looking for really (both school and the area).
