Reuseable Nappies

I am looking into re-useable nappies, but wanted a hands on look at some nappies and some advice, does anyone know of a local group or shop that they'd recommend going along to. I'm based in MSN but would travel locally to get the info and advice. I am overwhelmed by the web advice. B&NES don't seem to offer any incentives, either that or their website is so awkward to negotiate and find out info.

Hi there, the only one I know of is Born in Bristol - there used to be one on Walcot Street in Bath, but it closed quite a while ago. Sorry, possibly not v helpful.

I used Green Kids on my DS2, if that's any help. Used them from 4 months until around 23 months, when they seemed to be getting leaky - presumably because he had changed shape and was weeing in greater volumes! But I'm no connoisseur of reusables, they're the only ones I've used. An absolute doddle, though - I'd sell to you if I wasn't expecting DC3!

The Wiltshire Wildlife trust do a trial pack and will let you have a look at various types.

I use Totsbots bamboozles and motherease/tots wraps as my 2 parters and the totsbots easyfit v2 and bumgenius V3 as my all in one nappies. The all in ones are very slim fitting but don't hold the volume a 2 part nappy does. 2 parters are best for tiny babies and littlies until they start protesting the nappy change. Stay well away from the Mothercare smart nappy and bambino mio's.

BANES scheme but no cash incentive.

thank you BBBB that's a good starting point. I have already been cautioned away from Mothercare and bambino mio's.

I might drop an e-mail to the BANES team and get some advice. 6 weeks to go and trying to get my head [and DH's] around the possibility. MiL and SiL are anti-reusables and vocal, but I want to give them a go, I'm being as green as possible about everything else in our life, why not this.
