Hi All,

Just recently moved into the area and looking for some good mother and toddler groups to take my 18 month old to.

It would be great if anyone could recommend any groups that they attend which their children really enjoy - my DS is very energetic so would love somewhere he can run around!

Thanks

I used to take ds to mustard seed in Follys End Surrey Street (where the market is). It was pretty friendly and lots of space for the kids.

If you are in the south of the borough we used to go to Singalong.
A great singing session. lots of singing and rhymes, a cup of tea and balls in the break and we met some nice mums. It runs through school holidays too.

Purley
Thursdays from 1.30pm to 2.40pm
Fridays from 10am to 11.10am
St Mark?s Church Hall, Church Road

Coulsdon
Tuesdays from 10am to 11.10am
Richmond Hall (aka Scout Hut) Forth Drive

Caterham
Thursdays from 10am to 11.10am
St Mary?s Church Hall, Church Hill

We used to go to the tuesday one.
I would also recommend diddi dance. Several of boys went to the group we did.

Thanks for the info.

peachygirl - i took my ds to a sing and rhyme session earlier in the week and he decided after 10 mins that he had enough!

Ideally looking for somewhere he is able to run around at will as he doesn't seem to like anything structured (unlike me!!!).

Would be great to go somewhere that he is able to enjoy himself and meet some mums myself as haven't had the opportunity so far.

There's also a mum/toddler group at Croham Baptist Church on friday mornings. Very noisy! Might suit your little boy Wink

It's in South Croydon. There's a toddler group at Emmanuel Church Hall (Rockhampton Road South Croydon) on Wednesday - can't remember time but will find out. I go to the baby group at Emmanuel Church run by same people. It's friendly and you get a cup of tea/biscuits Smile

Try the Peppermint Toddler Group at the Scout Hut, Peppermint Close (2 mins walk from Therapia Lane tram stop.
This is a lovely group, there's a garden that the kids can charge round (as long as it's not pouring), they give them fruit as well as cake at snack time, there are craft activities but they are not compulsory... Oh and there's tea/coffee for the parents.
We went to Mustard Seed a few times but the venue creeped me out massively - I used to refer to it as the Waco Compound (it's home to one of those slightly wierd churches and there are some very icky paintings on the walls).

Where in the borough of Don are you? There's loads of stuff at the children's centres all over - look for Stay and Play for under 4s. There's also various NCT Bumps and Babies groups.

I'm in Purley so can recommend more specific stuff round here if that's the area you ar looking at.

lol solidboldgrass. Yeah ikwym about the weirdness of the place but the people were friendly and no one tried to shove religion down my throat. They handed out religious books aimed at the kids (indoctrination) at xmas but ours was left behind when we left the session Wink

Ladylush: Did you ever try the one at the New Life Centre (next to Reeves Corner tram stop)? Ever so keen on inviting you to bible study classes...
