Drinks on 19th 20th or 21st October anyone?

It would be a good chance to get together and chat and also meet some of the new people.
On another thread Lucyfer suggested Myland direction so we can chat without the loud music (We are getting too old, aren't we?). Any suggestions?
The other option is the Crown in Lexden, although I have never been in, I've heard it is good for food. So I presume it's ok for a peaceful drink.

I can do all 3 nights.

Hi Mung. Where is Myland exactly?! I have heard of it but can't find it on streetmap. Or is it just a posh way of saying Mile End?

SparklyPrincess · 05/10/2010 08:12

Saz - that's exactly right :). I don't really know any of the out of town pubs so I can't help with pub selection. I've been in the Brickmaker's but it may have changed in the intervening decade ...

I'm fine for any dates too

You know Myland Saz...it's where SP and Sawyer live. I can pick you up if you fancy coming.

i cant comment on pubs though as i never ever go out. the sign of a chicken laying a brick puts me off the brickmakers though - female solidarity.

Spot the ladies without a social life.
Surely hens do that every day?! Have you seen the size of my eggs?

Can't comment on the pubs either really....

I have only been to the Dog and Unpleasant Pheasant, which is ok, and The Bricklayers (makers???)which was busy and noisy, but ok too.

tabbycat76 · 06/10/2010 07:48

Ah-ha - I've found the new thread! :)

Hello to all you all. I be one of those newbies in the area and am def up for a drink, or squash probably in my case!!!! Bah to pregnancy and alcohol!

Any of those dates are fine with me.

No idea re pubs - think I've been to the Bricklayers (?) and it seemed ok but then that was a couple of years ago maybe.

pooter · 06/10/2010 10:52

Can i vote for the bricklayers? Its close enough to walk to so i could contemplate having two - yes two!- drinks. People could park on the street outside my house if they needed to - not a hell of a lot of space, but better than the main Bergholt road.

Looks like the 19th would be best then - what time? i would have to come about 8 at the earliest.

lucyfer2000 · 06/10/2010 11:45

Hiya, yes I can the 19th and the bricklayers is fine with me. Although funnily enough i happen to know that DP's football team drink in there on Tuesday night after footie!! don't think they will bother us though! DP won't be there that night either of course - he will be babysitting!!

tabbycat76 · 06/10/2010 13:11

8pm sounds good to me. I'll get the hubby to drop me off and pick me up so I don't have to worry about driving and parking - still getting used to my way around!!!! So the 19th? I'll pencil it in for now! Whoop! :)

Mung · 06/10/2010 20:09

any ideas?

Have a clothes colour theme?

I would imagine 5 or 6 women sitting at one table is fairly unusual.....

Someone take a hat,That would be easy to spot??? Smile

Sawyer64 · 08/10/2010 17:22

Possibility I may not make it after all as have Open Evening that evening.....will try.

tabbycat76 · 08/10/2010 19:48

Haha that's funny! Do you know I was thinking myself, well how would I recognise who these fellow mumsnetters are.... and thought, ha it's like a blind date, just need a red rose in your lapelle!! Haha! Thankfully pregnant bellies may well give the game away!! Not sure quite what to suggest really tho, without it being a tad obvious to other drinkers in the pub! A clothes colour theme could work so long as it wasn't too obvious.... :)

Mung · 08/10/2010 19:54

TBH it's always fine. I was just trying to insert some humour on these rather dead boards.
I always remember SP arriving at Adventureland (loads of mums with babes there sat in groups). We all just 'knew' she was the MN newbie, despite Not being sparkly at all.

The worst thing is having to say, "hi, are you MUNG?".

MissisBoot · 08/10/2010 19:56

Ooh - can I come?!
Haven't really been on here much since dd started school but would be good to catch up and see how everyone is getting on.
As long as dh finishes work on time I should be able to make it from 8ish.

Mung · 08/10/2010 20:35

Great MissisB... it will be great to see you.

tabbycat76 · 08/10/2010 21:41

Aw, so no roses in lappelles??!?!? hahaha Be good to meet you all, looking forward to it!

SparklyPrincess · 12/10/2010 15:02

Yeah, I think it was the terrified look in my eyes, trying to work out how the hell I was going to work out which one of the four groups of Mum's wasn't going to laugh at me for asking if they were my internet friends ... We'll have kids and buggies really doesn't help in Adventureland!

I could wear something sparkly, MissisB could wear boots (be fab to see you again, btw!) and Mung can, ... well, ... maybe fashion some sort of outfit out of dried beans?

Saz126 · 13/10/2010 21:58

Ah shame, Tuesday is DH's footie night so won't be able to make it. Thanks for offer of a lift Mung, would have loved to come but DH has got in there first as usual! Hope you all have a fab night Smilex

wandawings · 16/10/2010 22:07
