Mother and Toddler activities on Saturday

I'm a FT working mum (M-F), living in Barnes area, with a partner who works all day Saturday. I find it a bit lonely because most of my mum friends want to spend time with their respective other halfs (who don't work Saturdays). Are there any play groups or activities where I could with my dd (14m) where I could socialise? I have a car. Any thoughts gratefully considered!

Not many bright ideas I'm afraid but watching with interest as I am often in same boat (DH often away sailing). I think Gymboree in St Margarets do a Saturday morning pass. There's also one in Chiswick if that's easier for you but don't know whether they do the Saturday pass.

You've probably already thought about soft play places eg Eddie Katz in Putney or the one at Syon Park? I guess it depends how mobile your DD is but she's probably of an age to start getting something out of them.

There's a lot of us in the same boat. Not sure about playgroups but I'm often to be found at Climbers and Creepers in Kew Gardens at the weekend, as are many of my friends. Wetlands is also good especially the indoor bit when wet. Your DD is still quite young but there are lots of sports clubs at the weekends: my DDs do gymnastics and DS football for example.

Climbers and creepers is excellent, as is all of Kew Gardens really, though the wetland centre is nearer if you're in Barnes. Waterbabies do Saturday classes at Twickenham, if that's not too far. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas. I thought crawlers and creepers was for over 3 year olds? I've just found out about Eddie Katz so will definitely try that.
