Moving up to N10 from East London - where can I go with a 2 year old and 5 week old?

Hi :) I am moving up to N10 mid Nov and don't know where other Mums with toddlers and babies go to meet up.

Any ideas/ links would be very welcome as otherwise it will be quite a lonely autumn winter for the boys.

There was an NCT playgroup on Tuesday afternoons at CUFOS.

Contact your local NCT contact - and you can find Haringey NCT on Facebook. They will be able to give you much more specific ideas.

There's the Crocodile cafe on Muswell Hill Broadway.

There are stay and play groups at Haringey's Children's Centres. Don't know which one(s) are nearest to you - Campsbourne is quite near Priory Park.

A little further afield, Finsbury Park has a huge playground, a big cafe with lots of buggy space, and some playhuts with dropins every day from 10-12 and 1-2.30.

Lots of groups at the Methodist Church on Pages Lane.

Little dinosaurs (soft play) near Alexandra Palace. Soft play also up at Clown Town by Tesco (a bit horrid IMO but good for letting off steam).

Lots of things on at the local libraries (Muswell Hill and Alexandra Palace).

Jeremy and his guitar in the cafe in Priory Park on Mon, Wed and Fri at 10:30.

It's also worth joining Haringey Families when you move here - they have a playgroup on, I think, Friday mornings.

There's also a playgroup at the Baptist Church on Dukes Avenue I think.

I can not recommend the toddler group at North Bank enough it is on a Wednesday 9:30 - 11:30 (it is on Pages Lane).

Little Dinosaurs in The Grove is a soft play place.

Highgate Woods has a wonderful playground.

Muswell Hill Library is great and has a sing session on a Thursday and messy play on a WEdnesday.

Sing sessions with Jeremy in the cafe at Priory Park most mornings.

You will not be short of things to do.

Also, if you are after groups (of the sort that you pay for) theres:

Monkey Music

Tick Tock Music (I love this one!)

Debutots

tumbletots

Diddidance (and this!)

Hi it's a fantastic area, lots to do. I have a two year old boy and live in n10 too. Where will you be living? Shout if you'd like a coffee. Am not psycho killer.

We love little dinosaurs. Muswell hill library has the great advantage of toy cars for rainy days. Cherry tree woods nice if the weather gets better.

Also harringay club run by YMCA down in crouch end. Full program of classes eg cooking, baby massage and ballet.

There is a special group for under 6 months at North Bank, Pages Lane called Tiny Talk, Tuesday afternoons (I think 1-3) , but that might be difficult as you won't be able to bring your older one...

There is a group at St James Church, Muswell Hill Broadway, on Monday morns at 9.30am.

Coppetts Wood Children's center, N10 1JS is close by and has Stay and Play on a Thurs morn, plus lots of other activities.

Stonecoft children's center, N8 7HR has lots to do including Movers and Shakers classes.

Muswell Hill Children's library, in the Broadway is fantastic.

There is always something happening!

Thank you everyone. Moving has been tough and now everything is shutting down for Christmas or has a big waiting list. I will look into options again in the new year as the weather and parking have made trips out tough on my youngest. Trying to sort out anything resembling a play date for ds is a nightmare so if Loulou or anyone is around for a meet up I'd love to host/ pop over, generally try and reassure myself I won't be at home alone with 2 kids until the summer!

I have chosen to drive to Swiss Cottage for football as that was the one thing ds loved and missed and the waiting list for Muswell Hill is until April!

We are living in a rented house on Creighton Avenue and whilst people are friendly they all seem to have established networks with little room for newbies....I am just a bit sick of driving back to East London, Kent, Surrey for playdates!
