Hi all. I'm Emily. DH and I have just moved back to Sheffield after a few years down South. Before I could find my feet and meet people/get into a routine I've found out I'm pregnant (10 weeks). So... no boozy nights out for me but I'm feeling a little isolated (I'm off work at mo and don't know anyone yet) so I thought I'd see if there are any MN-ers who fancy chatting either on here or meeting up for a coffee/yoga session/walk/swim/film etc?

Also I'm really up for joining a yoga class or similar relaxation-type group so any tips on where to go (in S11) greatfully received.

I'm in S11 and really love a good laugh and a chat, as well as interests in walking/the peaks/cookery/film etc.

Hope to get to know some of you soon! Smile

Hi Nicola, Frosty and Katz,

Lovely to read your messages and meet you all.
Nicola - I too am a travel virgin and a Rotherham virgin (I've never been despite growing up in sheffield!). Transport is a bit of an issue for me at the moment (no car and money so tight) but could meet in town or maybe M'hall if you every fancy any window shopping. Good luck with TTC#2 too - fingers crossed for you!
Frosty - you sound like you really have your hands full! I don't think I'm going to know what's hit me when my baby comes judging by your tales of night-waking and BFing. I hope you can start to get out and about soon.
Katz - it's great there are a few of us Sheffs MN-ers about. I'd love a meet up and am happy to help with any arrangements.

Righto, off to dodge the raindrops!
Best wishes
Emily.

Hi Emily,

Like Stay Frosty I can recommend Olivia's yoga class.

I'm in S11 too, though I have 3 DC's (did Olivia's classes for both pregnancies) so am a bit bound by school drop offs and pick ups but would love to meet up for a coffee and the low down on baby groups in the area.

Hi Emily and others!:)
i was reading ur post and it seemed like im reading about my own life;) we moved to sheffield year n half ago and 3 months later i was pregnant! Not knowing anybody just like u. Sad and difficult times:(

but thanks to being pregnant and now having a beautiful baby girl i met so many people! I did yoga and active birth classes with Olivia as well, she is amazing!!! And not far from S11.

There is so many different baby groups, also some for bumps (NCP I think). Get a Link Magazine, there's lots of info there.

Omg I can't stop writing..... Anyway I always happy to meet new mums/people! Available for a coffee/walk any time really!

I used to go to bumps and babies at St Andrew's church hall when DD was small and we lived in sheffield. It's an NCT group (but you don't have to be an NCT member to go) I met tons of lovely mums there. I also loved kate campbell's antenatal and postnatal fittness classes www.keepmumsfit.com
