Hi ladies..
We are thinking of moving to oxford in january. We have 2 children under 3. DH will be studying part time in Headington so want I am looking for advice about nice residential easily accessible (as both of us don't drive and don't want to either!) location to stay in.
What are the activities for children like in that area?

ANy advice will be greatly appreciated. We are moving from the isle of man.

Thanks ladies. Look forward to some responses. xx

Summertown and Jericho are hugely overpriced but good areas. I actually like Old Marston. It is only a 10 minute cycle ride to the Summertown shops or an easy drive without too much traffic. Also, via the lovely University cycle path no more than 10 minutes to Oxford city centre. Shops are limited here apart from smallish supermarkets. Prices of houses are cheap compared to Summertown just a short distance away. Most of the houses are semi-detached 30s type with large gardens and mostly occupied by families. The school catchment area takes in the best secondary school in Oxford (Cherwell). Safe and pleasant place to live.

Kid and i currently live in north yorkshire, pleasant enough, closed off town where everyone knows everyone else and nothing cultural or entertaining for either myself or 17 and 10 year old. Trying to relocate for a fresh start after a really bad year all round. Just finished law degree and currently on masters, so hoping to find a job and enhance oxford, but although we're poor, we're a good sort. Daughter needs good secondary school to finish A levels and son needs good secondary school that will help optimise his drama skills. Looking to try and 'swap' council houses with one in Jericho which looks like nice quiet area. We have no other option than swap at min and area needs to be central and family orientated. Kids have been through a lot and we just need something good to happen. So any advice on schools, area, how easy to find a job or how I can support a PhD, how we can meet people, or even if anyone has any suggestions on how I can swap down there much appreciated.
