Can anyone give me some advice about Oaklands Primary School please? We are about to buy a house in the catchment area and suddenly noticed the ofsted report had dropped from a 2 to a 3.

Anything local mums whose kids go there can tell me would be great.

thanks

A fantastic school. My daughter has just started in Year 1 and completed Reception with brilliant results. Please don't go by the ofsted report only - please, please do make a point of visiting the school and meeting it's fabulous Headteacher, staff and pupils.

The ofsted report is based on the last 3 years and the school did go through a tough period without a Head before the current Head started - last year. The early years section of the school was the area the school was pulled up on, but this has and is being majorly focussed on - and with positive results already.

The nursery is a lovely and inviting environment and very highly spoken of - a really welcoming intro to the school environment for 3 year olds. My youngest daughter has just started this term and can't wait to go everyday.

Best wishes

I'm a volunteer at Oaklands, and agree with Thenes. It's a lovely school - very caring and friendly, excellent atmosphere. The new head is a gem.
