Wanted: another single mum in South Edinburgh

This isn't much of a personal ad I know!

I am a single mum to a five year old DS who has just started school. I work full time and have very limited family support.

I would like to find another mum in a similar situation to me so that we can help each other out and support each other.

If you or anyone you know would like to meet up then please do reply to my post.

PS - I am not a wierdo honestly.

Sorry Im not a single mum but didn't want to see your message unanswered.
I worked for Gingerbread some years ago and Im sure there is a single parent org. based in Edinburgh. Did you try the single part thread on mumsnet?
Surely there must be more mums out there!

The fact that I got no replies sums up my impression - there are NO single mums near me! Certainly how it feels at the school playground etc - is very isolating for me.

I don't think that Gingerbread operates in Scotland but will have a look, thanks.

Oooh, me! Where do you mean by south? We are in Dumbiedykes, so kind of more central (south of Princes St though!) but may move some time. I've got 8yo and 9mo, single for second time round and feeling pretty misanthropic about it.

We live in Marchmont so not far off. I have one DS who is 5 and just started school which I am finding VERY stressful (he seems fine though!)
