Need a surveyor recommendation in Bath.

We are currently house hunting and at nail biting stage of putting offers in.

We need a surveyor anyone got any recommendation? (won't be getting a mortgage so won't go down their survey route). We would want a thorough survey done on the property.

I seem to remember that we used one that our Solicitor recommended who wasn't too bad. It may be worth asking your's if they have a list.

Our solicitor is based in Exeter so probably won't. He comes highly recommended though so don't want to change him.

There is a company in Chippenham called Straker&Co (estate agents) they have a couple of surveyors, they did our surveys and HIPPs. Very good and not hugely expensive.

Make sure they surveyor you use is RICS registered as they have have to comply to certain rules and there is a comeback if they get anything wrong.
