I think it's a great idea to have a local group if there's enough support.

Do you know about Hackney Families Together? support group for families with SEN and disabled children. meets once a month and discuses different topics each month. Invites speakers from the learning trust, Hackney Ark etc. Lots of parents there with autistic kiddos. good place to meet others and get info about what services are available.

next one

Thursday 14th oct 9.30 - 12.30 at the Ann Taylor Centre south side of London Fields

might see you there. Smile

I would be interested - my ds has severe speech delay

lorrikeet · 20/12/2010 21:16

Anyone still keen on this idea?
I'd love to meet some other local parents Smile

lets do it in the new year then; hopefully okudaisi will see this too:

parents only meet up to start with? or shall we arrange something with the kids do you think?

janx · 02/01/2011 18:03

Hi
I don't mind either - I work 3 days a week so would need to be on Thurs/Fri if doing during the day

Hello! Only just seen this message. Can I tell you about HiP as well. We're a parent-run forum open to all parents/carers of children with SN/disability in Hackney. We're running some free training soon and you can find us on FB or visit our website at www.hiphackney.org.uk
