Baby led weaning is it the way to go?

I am just about to start to wean by DD and am being given conflicting advice about how to go about it. I'm not sure whether to go with the feeding her purees myself or to try baby led weaning, does anyone have any views about which one they have found the best?

Perhaps you should go to the main boards and see what people say on there. I have done purees with DC1, BLW with DC2 and I'm doing a mixture of whatever I can get my hands on with DC3...poor boy!

I puréed for britian with my ds but moved to blw with dd and it was fab. For one she wouldn't let me feed her and she managed allsorts of lumps and stuff from quite early on.

If your dd seems happy holding and munching on fruit and veg (red pepper) was dd favourite then I'd try it. It is difficult cos you are never sure how much they are getting.
