Where's nice for a day out nearby?

I finish my current nanny job at the end of the month and want to do a nice day out with my little one.

Just wondering where was nice and nearby for DC 2.10 and myself. We have gold passes to the zoo so are there very regular - so maybe not there. Also weather wise the end of Sept may not be brilliant.

How about the bus to Maldon and a walk along the prom with a visit to the pirate ship.
Frinton- it will be lovely weather!

How about Semer Farm Trail? You can take a picnic to eat and then have a nice cup of tea and slice of cake in the farm shop afterwards.

Like the sound of Malson pier and the pirate ship.
