Hi there,

I'm moving to Hitchin soon and am looking for a house to rent. We are a couple with a 1 year old so we need a minimum of 2 bedrooms. We would like some outside space and a dining area.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,
Alex

Hi there!
Just wonder how you got on, if your move went ahead and if you like the area now? You have about 6 months on me! Im same situation right now. On hunt for nice house to rent for 3 of us in Hitchin. Thanks!

Hi guys

Am also searching for a house to rent in Hitchin! We need 3 beds as there's 5 of us!

Before I brought I rented through Country Properties. They had a nice rolling lease - its a minimum of 6 months but after that you don't resign, you just give 1 months notice. They also had an independent company come and do sign ins and sign outs. Got my full deposit back on the first house and would have the second time only in the kerfuffle over moving I forgot to wash the curtains!

They have a website showing rentals, or you can look on Rightmove at rentals in the area. The maps on this site will also show you the nearest schools so you can look those up.

Hitchin is a great place to live with lots of life to it. The town centre is good if you like cafe culture, independent stores and a whole load of restaurants.

Hiya,

How are you guys getting on? We're also looking to rent - though in Letchworth / Arlesey as the 10 mile cambridge road diversion puts me off Hitchin [our childminder is in Letchworth].

We're finding it really tough to find somewhere - places just seem to get snapped up so quickly and rents seem to be creeping up... Stupid thing is we actually want to buy, just can't get it done in time!

When we all find our lovely new places do you fancy meeting up for some exploring? so far I have my eye on Hitchin pool [indoor and outdoor] and standalone farm...

Well, I am now looking to find somewhere by the beginning of June Shock and panicking.

I've got an appt on Saturday to view a house but I know what you mean about places disappearing as soon as they're listed. I'm convinced it'll be taken before I've had a chance to look at it.

Have you found anywhere yet fishmother?

fishmother · 09/05/2011 07:22

We have, but it was a bit of luck really. I was also panicking and so I put a notice up on the north herts netmums board and someone came back to say they were moving out of their place so I went up to see it and it was ideal.

I went to see a few places and some of them were dire, was really depressing. I found I really had to hassle estate agents.

How have you got on? did you like the one on Saturday?
