Clifton Parking

I need to be in Clifton at University Union at 3.45 on a Wednesday through to 6.15 pm.

What is most realistic parking option? Am I likely to find any on street parking at that time?

I seem to remember from my student days that the students union has its own car park as it is not term time there may be spaces there.

You are unlikely to find on-street parking and in some areas of Clifton there may be parking meters.

There is also an NCP car park on Jacob Wells Road within 5 mins walk.

You maybe lucky but there are car parks about.

3.45 is school pick up!! No parking meters in Clifton, but if you give yourself enough time you could park in Clifton Down shopping centre on Whiteladies.

If the meeting is actually in the union building it's worth calling them to ask if you could use the cark park under the building - I think it's normally staff permits only on weekdays, but others can use it at weekends and it might be OK out of term time.

Also, since most students aren't back yet, you've got more chance than normal of finding an on-street space around Gordon Road (down the side of the union building), York Place or Clifton Hill. Or if you can't find anywhere there, there are parking meters on Park Place (off Queens Road, behind the new Waitrose) which is a very short walk away.

I used to live a stone's throw from the students' union and always found a (free) space to park eventually if I drove round a few times - just allow plenty of time.

There are parking meters on most of the roads off Queens Road near the university but the union building is (just) outside this area. Clifton Down shopping centre is further away than the nearest multi-storey car-park which is called West End car-park on Jacob Wells Road.

Most university car parks do have space for visitors but this is worth a go !

How to get parking in Clifton? Buy a tank.
