Place in town to take work contact for lunch

Hi there, I'm looking for a place to eat in town that would be good to take a new work contact who's coming down to Brighton for the day. Preferably somewhere quiet enough to have a reasonably private conversation and not £££. Any ideas? TIA.

Table is good - its had lots of good reviews, I think its good value, but is often surprisingly empty. Or you could try The new Cote I haven't tried it yet as It's only just opened, but the building (the old music library) is loveley and the garden looks very swish...

Ooh, thanks Grin. As it's a nice day might have to go for Cote and sit in the gardens. Good call!

Cool! Good luck with your meeting - let me know if you like Cote - Its next on my list for when/if Dh and I ever get out to eat again..

It was not bad - as we were going dutch we just had the set menu and my steak frites were nice (although they didn't come with a side salad or any veg) and a good dessert. I think a la carte would be better though, and I suspect more ambiance at night if you're planning to go there with your DH as it was full of business people having loud conversations. Did feel very French though and prices reasonable!
