covering school holidays (private schools/versus state)

Hi there

We are trying to decide weather to send our son to private/state school.
The only one we can afford is Sancton Wood, which we loved when visited. BUT the school holidays are very long! to my surprise much longer than state schools. Our local state is Ridgfield, which is well below the national avarage for numerary and literacy, so a bit worrying to say the leat.
We don't know how we would cover for the holiday periods, we both work full time. There are holiday play-schemes for children 5- that cover state school holidays, but what about private school holidays? plus my child would be only 4
What do people do? how do you cover the holidays?
Thanks!

It is a nightmare! Whatever school they go to, if you both work, then it will cost - not much help i guess, but that's how it is!!

If you look at it another way, if you go down the private route then you can take your 'family' holiday time at the beginning/end of the private holidays when attractions etc are less busy and then use the playschemes etc during the main school holidays.
