what is the going rate for a childminder?

I live in the south side (don't know if that makes a difference) and i am hopefully looking at returning to work part time.

I am waiting on a place opening up at the local council nursary but who knows how long that might take.

I just wondered if theres a ball park figure for a childminder, say for 20 hours a week?

I pay my childminder 81 quid for 3 days (27 hours).

Mine (in that area) charges £30 per day or £20 for a half day. She doesn't do hourly charges.

You wont get a council day nursery place unless yoou are homeless, a drug addict or have some other severe problems/issues.

You will get a 3 hr/5 day a week place at a council nursery the term after your child turns 3, but this is little use if you are working.

I've heard god things about the outdoor kindergarten in pollok park.

My nursery in Uddingston charges £25 a day
