Hi, does anyone know of or know how to search for the best primary schools in Wandsworth. I am in Tooting on Garratt Lane, but have heard the schools near to us are bad, may need to think about moving! Any help appreciated?

Ugh yes they're not great there. We recently moved out of Wandsworth so we could be near better schools. The council website has a list of all schools in the borough and their admission criteria. You can also go to Ofsted and searchfor inspection reports by typin in your postcode. I think the Beatrix Potter School is suppose to be good but that has a very small catchmet area. Other than that, the best schools are either independent or CofE and very difficult to get into. As neither DH or I are Christian we just moved!

surprised at the last post as wandsworth is known for its good state schools.

the best schools in that area seem to be fircroft, earlfsfield and beatrix potter. Earlsfield is just off garratt lane. Beatrix Potter is on Magdalen rd and has recently changed to a 60 intake (from 30) which might make it possible for those outside magdalen estate and toastrack to get in.

Contact the schools directly and they will let you know your chances for admission.

Allfarthing School is on the Good Schools Guide and has is rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
