Hi there, I'm trying to find a playgroup or playdates for my children on a Friday in Ashtead/Epsom/Leatherhead area. My girls are almost 3 and 15 months. Would be nice to meet a local mum, as only moved here recently. (aware I sound a little bit sad, but if you don't ask...):)

Have you got a copy of the 'Grapevine' - it will have the listings of most play groups in the area. (I can send you mine or you can pick up a copy at the library)

Unfortunately, my two are older, but Grapevine was very good for finding groups, but I think most on on holiday and will begin again in September.

A friend has told me that there is a good drop in group at the Methodist Church in Epsom.

There will no doubt also be some help at your nearest sure start centre.

HTH and good luck!

I don't know if this is something, but there is also Rainbow Centre and the huge Leisure Centre in Leatherhead - I am sure they will have something to suit!

I am in Epsom, I have recently started going to Todlers Hell World at the Rainbow centre, it has sessions on a Mon, Tue and Thu and everyone is quite friendly. There is also Rhyme Time & Storytime at the library on a Tue and Thu too, again, a drop in so easy to try without having to pay/commit to something you might not like.

Also, Pooh Corner is a parent and toddler group that's supposed to be good. Netmums is pretty good for listings.

Also Leatherhead leisure centre has a new crazy tots indoor play place not really good for you but good for the girls as my boys love it!

Thanks everyone, some good suggestions. Will brace myself and get stuck in!

Hi
I have recently moved to Ashtead as well. I have two daughters aged three and five. I know that there are a few playgroups held at st Georges Church hall and also St Giles Church hall. St Georges have a SureStart Childrens Centre that I am sure will have a lot more information but i have not made it there yet! I have heard on the grapevine that some playgroups (mums and Tods) are very oversubscribed and there are even waiting lists to attend, with some you have to pay for the sessions in advance.
More than happy to meet up on a Friday
for a playdate if you would like, if you find any good playgroups do let me know.
