hello everyone,

i'm new in town, originally from vancouver, canada and have moved here to england for 6 months with my husband and 11 1/2 week old baby boy. looking to meet other moms (mums) for coffee and to get out of the house and not go crazy with homesickness. i hear that just hanging out with other mums and talking about each other's experiences is very therapeutic. i'm really new to the area (have been to england before as a childless tourist) so that doesn't help with the anxiety of getting on the bus with a huge buggy!

i'll be living in the chessington area, and have checked out upcoming baby groups if anyone is interested.

look forward to meeting new people!

I'm not in your area jelliebeen, but best of luck with finding some friends. I find my ante-natal group really supportive. Have you already registered with a GP? Your Health Visitor should be able to advise you of some groups that meet up. Our local baby weigh-in is a good place to meet people too.

Good luck, and welcome to the UK.

hi there, I just posted a similar thing! I live in Ashtead, have a 15 month old and a busy almost 3 year old. Free most Friday's if you want to take a chance that I'm not a axe wielding serial killer?? (I'm not, honest). :)

Hi itsamummyslife! I don't get an alert telling me if someone has responded to any posts, sorry for not replying sooner!

How far is Ahstead from Chessington? There is a baby group (0-1yr) on Fridays just around the block from where I am staying and I was planning on joining that. Would that interest you, or is that too far? It might also be too young for your kids?

I'm trying to see if other mums are interested in getting together, perhaps once a week to chat or have coffee, etc. I know it's hard with different schedules so once a week will be a good start for now and if it is a success, then perhaps we can do more. Mondays and Fridays are my "flexible" days right now and I use that term loosely. It all depends on the little one (and sometimes the weather even!), especially with taking public transport.

Let me know if this is something you would be keen in doing.

I live near Surbiton, have a three month old, and would love some new pals!

Hi there, same about alerts - so sorry for taking so long! Ashtead is near Chessington - about 10 mins. My baby's 16 months now so that group might be a bit too little. But would be lovely to meet up with some others too - maybe Leatherhead leisure centre (about half way)? Good for all ages plus can get a coffee there?

Hiya

I also live in Surbiton, have a 4 month old and a 2,5 year old and always looking for new mummy friends! Give me a shout if you fancy meeting for a coffee!
